Introduction to Ondemand!:

Ondemand! deliver video content to TV's, mobiles, tablets and PC's. Their clients include network operators in Europe, Middle East, South America and South Africa. Their service offering includes content licensing, content processing, video platform and marketing services.

Description of role:

Amy Varga was instrumental in bringing the interface development for multiple devices in-house. She has been an envangelist for a formal new product development process that allows all stakeholders to provide input and promotes an Agile culture for development.

She has been responsible for user experience design for mobile, desktop and set top box devices and has written user persona definitions, product task analyses, usability specifications and design principles. She has produced wire frames and prototypes and has conducted usability tests and heuristic evaluations.

Ondemand! has successfully launched the mobile 3UK website which serves all mobile devices from low-end to smart phones. Amy was solely responsible for developing the interface. The website is built on a Java platform. It uses one code base with device variants managed using Apache Tiles. Mobile web pages are built using XHTML 1.0 MP, CSS 1 & 2 and native OO Javascript. Desktop pages are built using progressively enhanced HTML5, CSS 1, 2 and 3 and jQuery.

Projects are managed using Agile project management techniques and maintained using SVN versioning.
