Introduction to Big Fish:

Big Fish Design specialises in naming brands, positioning them and giving them identities and personalities. Their services include brand strategies, marketing strategies, website design and development, product packaging design, art direction of photo shoots and press ads. Their clients include Dorset Cereals, Gu, Harrods, BBC, Biscuiteers and many more.

Description of role:

Amy Varga worked on the Magento e-commerce platform, the platform Big Fish use to integrate e-commerce into their client websites. The Magento platform is built on PHP (Zend framework).

Amy Varga created custom modules for required e-commerce functionality which did not form part of Magento core. These included:

• Including delivery instructions with an order
• Selection of a dispatch date with an order
• Zero delivery charge for first orders
• Custom spreadsheets for sales summaries

Amy Varga skinned Magento pages to meet approved web page designs, ensuring standards compliant and browser compatible XHMTL pages.

Amy Varga also work on the Big Fish CMS system which was built on a PHP (Codeigniter framework) and MySQL database.
