HTML5 - File APIs

Written on Fri, 17th February 2012
By Amy Varga

The new HTML5 file API's make importing, creating, manipulating, storing and publishing files simple. In this blog I prototype the drag & drop, reading and creating File API's.

In this demonstration a user can drag an image from their computer on to an area on the web page. The image file size is read and the image is displayed in the area. If the image is under 5Mbytes, it is uploaded as binary to the Absolute Orange domain. The image is then displayed in a seperate box using the Absolute Orange domain.

Drop your photo here and it will be uploaded to the Absolute Orange website
